Q: How do I clean the stone mat?
A: For light scuffs or surface marks, gently sand the mat using the included sanding tool. For tougher stains, a small amount of diluted hydrogen peroxide or bleach can be used. Always clean in a well-ventilated area and allow the mat to dry completely before use.

Q: How do I prevent my stone mat from cracking or chipping?
A: Kalhoof mats are built for everyday use, but they are made from natural stone and can break under excessive pressure or improper placement. We recommend placing the mat on a flat, stable surface using the included base pad to evenly distribute weight and help absorb impact.

Q: What is the included base pad for?
A: The base pad sits between your mat and the floor. It provides a non-slip grip and helps prevent damage by cushioning impact when stepping on the mat, especially on tile or concrete flooring.

Q: Can I use the stone mat outside the bathroom?
A: Absolutely. Kalhoof mats are versatile. Use them in your kitchen, by the entryway for wet shoes or umbrellas, under houseplants, or even as a drying surface for washed fruits and vegetables.

Q: Do stone bath mats really work?
A: Yes. Kalhoof stone mats are made from diatomaceous earth, a naturally porous and ultra-absorbent material that pulls moisture in and dries within minutes. Unlike fabric mats that remain damp, our stone mats quickly and efficiently eliminate excess moisture.

Q: Are they sanitary?
A: Very. Because our mats dry so quickly, they do not retain moisture. That means mold, mildew, and bacteria do not have a place to grow. It is a cleaner, safer solution for your home.

Q: Are Kalhoof stone mats safe for skin contact?
A: Yes. Our mats are made from natural materials and contain no harsh chemicals or additives. They are safe to step on barefoot and ideal for households that prioritize non-toxic living.
